Fort McRee

Fort McRee was destroyed in the Civil War, and what is on this site is actually WWI and WWII fortifications. The exact location of the original fort is unknown. The nearest parking lot is at Johnson’s Beach. Some visitors come by boat.

Hours: Dawn to Dusk

Price: part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is $15/person or $25/car.
