Standard NCL Restaurants

These are restaurants that are common, though some are not on every ship, across Norwegian Cruise Line.

Free restaurants (Standard Name):

  • Buffet (Garden Cafe)
  • Diner (American Diner)
  • Grill (various names)
  • Main Dining Rooms (various names)
  • Noodle Bar (Shanghai’s)
  • Suites-only restaurant (The Haven Restaurant)

Specialty restaurants (Standard Name):

Some NCL specialty restaurants have a “Smart-Casual” dress code, but they do not disclose which ones. Reports are that this is inconsistently enforced across the fleet, so only the French restaurant is considered certain. However, some reports are that they don’t enforce the dress code there either. It is apparently up to the crew.

NCL has two price structures at this time:

For cruises beginning before January 1, 2025:

Norwegian’s meal packages include 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 entree, and 1 dessert (or 4 items in some restaurants) This is what we call one Norwegian Standard Meal (NSM). This may include an upcharge of $25 for certain options, such as lobster. If this is the case, it will be marked with ($). The purpose of the NSM is to tell you how expensive a restaurant is including gratuity. This is the peak price for the NSM, not what you would pay for your desired meal without the package.

Packages (now only as a part of More at Sea) include up to 3 appetizers, an entree, and up to three desserts. All specialty full-service restaurants have a fixed price structure. Menus have not been updated yet, so check back later for those.
